Lynx Charlotte Light Rail
Downtown hotels in Charlotte are somewhat expensive. If you want a less expensive alternative, look for hotels in South Charlotte that are near the LYNX Blue Line, and take the light rail to 7th Street station, which is only a block away from Spirit Square, the locale for most of Thursday’s and Friday’s activities. It’s also near the McColl Center, site for Wednesday night’s welcome reception. The stations with a “P” have park-and-ride lots.
Light rail might also be worth considering if you’re coming into Charlotte only for the day. Save on parking hassles, and take the train.
Light rail may not have been how your grandmother would have attended a preservation conference, but, hey, enjoy an urban experience – right here in NC. The LYNX trains get great reviews.
